The A-1 Specialty Diver Course

Our Specialty Diver Course will increase your comfort underwater, reduce gas consumption, prolong your dives, decrease your surface interval, enhance your diving experience, and so much more.

The combination of the Enriched Air Nitrox (EAN) and Perfect Buoyancy specialties are practical, rewarding, and sure to make you a better diver. AND, this amazing transformation will take placed in ONE EVENING!  Once you digitally log (12) verified dives in your digital logbook, you will receive the SSI Specialty Diver Recognition.  For free!!

Enriched Air Nitrox Diver Course

ENRICHED AIR NITROX COURSE

  • Analyze cylinders
  • Calibrating oxygen sensor
  • Analyze scuba cylinder gas
  • Prepare gas cylinder label
  • Complete fill station gas log

PERFECT BUOYANCY

  • (2) separate pool dives. There will be a short surface interval between dives.
  • Fine tune your buoyancy
  • Proper weighting

  • Attaining the “diver position”

  • Have a MySSI account HERE Be sure to upload a digital photo, your complete address, and current date of birth. All necessary in order to issue your digital e-Kits.
  • Be a certified Open Water Diver from a recognized Training Agency.
  • Be at least 10 years of age.
  • Download and complete the Enriched Air Nitrox and Perfect Buoyancy documents

THE DIVER MEDICAL PARTICIPANT QUESTIONNAIRE IS VERY IMPORTANT! If you answer YES to questions 3, 5, or 10 on page (1) of the Diver Medical Questionnaire or any of the questions on page (2), you will be directed to print, sign, and date page (1) of the questionnaire and bring all three pages to your certified medical professional for an evaluation. Your certified medical professional must approve, date, and sign PAGE (3) and add their medical credentials.

VERY IMPORTANT

If you have been requested to submit a medical evaluation signed by a medical professional, please note that we (SSI and A-1 Scuba) cannot accept the form with any comments, whether handwritten or typed, regardless of who put them there.

The form should be seen as a yes/no type of approval and any stipulation added by anyone effectively negates the validity of the form, even if everything else was done correctly.  

The medical form itself was put together by highly qualified medical professionals (NOT SSI) and neither SSI, A-1 Scuba or their Instructors, the diver, or the medical professional are authorized to amend it beyond simply filling it out and signing as indicated.

If anyone feels that changes need to be made to the form, please inform SSI and we will follow up, but the current version remains in effect until changes are officially implemented and a new version is published, should that be deemed necessary.

Unfortunately, the participant will not be allowed in the water until these forms have been completed, signed, dated, and reviewed for completeness and accuracy.

Be sure to download, print, complete all required areas on each form (name, date, initials, etc.) and hand the completed documents to the instructor, when you arrive for your class.

Payment in full was required to reserve a space in the class.

  • The course fee includes the SSI online e-Kit(s) and pool dives. Once the digital kit is issued, there is no refund for the e-Kit.
  • Should you transfer or cancel less than seven days but more than 48 hours before the starting date of the class, there will be a 50% transfer/cancellation fee.
  • Should you cancel or transfer, FOR ANY REASON, less than 48 hours before the starting date of the course, all fees will be forfeited.
  • Though extremely rare, should A-1 need to cancel the class or open water training at one of our locations, A-1 will provide a full refund or transfer you to another class for no fee.
  • MAKING UP MISSED SESSIONS AND OPEN WATER DIVES requires us to hire professional staff, schedule time in the pool, the aquarium, or at another open water site.  The minimum fee for pool make-up session(s) is $125 per hour (one hour minimum) and $175 per hour (one hour minimum) at the Denver Downtown Aquarium.  Fees for other open water locations are higher.
