DAY 1: September 9, 2018

On arrival in Kilimanjaro Airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge for overnight in Plantation Rooms on bed and breakfast basis.

Arusha Coffee Lodge, a perfect haven for relaxation either before or after any East African safari. Comprising of 30 Plantation Houses that radiate out into the evergreen coffee fields, Arusha Coffee Lodge has been designed around the original landowner’s home that dates back to the early 1900’s. The theme of coffee permeates throughout Arusha Coffee Lodge, reflecting in the colours and textures of the delightfully comfortable accommodations with beautifully appointed en suite bathrooms.

DAY 2: September 10, 2018

After an early breakfast, your guide will drive you to the Tarangire region of Tanzania. You will arrive at the lodge in time for lunch and afternoon game drive in Tarangire National Park. After the game drive you will have dinner and overnight at Tarangire Treetops on full board basis inclusive of local drinks and laundry

Centered about a Main Lodge – which itself encases a thousand year-old baobab tree – Tarangire Treetops comprises of 20 rooms all of which are elevated above the ground affording views over the tops of surrounding marula and baobab trees. Each Treetops room boasts one of the largest bedrooms to be found in any camp or lodge in East Africa – with a floor space of 195 square feet – and all with an exotic double shower en suite bathroom. With furnishings that create warmth and demonstrate a commitment to local craftsmanship, the ‘up-in-the-air’ experience is completed by the open-fronted room design affording views across the Tarangire plains from an expansive but private balcony.

DAY 3: September 11, 2018

Enjoy a full day game drive in Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch. In the afternoon return to the lodge in time for dinner and overnight at Tarangire Treetops on full board basis inclusive of local drinks and laundry.

DAY 4: September 12, 2018

After breakfast your next fascinating part of the journey begins. Your guide will drive to Mto Wa Mbu Village for a visit with the community and a walk through the village. Lunch will be provided followed by an afternoon game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. We then climb the Masaai Steppes and arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater. The Manor at Ngorongoro, is one of the first safari lodges of its kind to blend East African hospitality with old-world Afro-European architecture and decor. Located adjacent to the famous Ngorongoro conservation area and within a 1500-acre Arabica coffee estate, The Manor is reminiscent of an elegant up-country farm home in the Cape Dutch-style of architecture. Every detail of The Manor has been designed with its guests’ comfort in mind. Each of the cottages has been carefully positioned to maximise the views of the adjacent verdant hills but at the same time to maintain the intimacy and privacy of this old-world Manor home.

DAY 5: September 13, 2018

A highlight awaits you this morning as you depart to explore what is commonly referred to as the World’s largest wildlife zoo. After breakfast, you descend with a picnic lunch through the early morning mists and 2,000 feet into the crater. Ngorongoro Crater is the World’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Due to its size and diversity, the crater floor is comprised of several distinct areas, ranging from forest, swamps, lakes and springs, to open grassland and some sandy dunes. It’s an awesome wildlife experience. Lunch is served near a small lake filled with hippos. You then continue game viewing before returning to the crater’s rim and to your lodge in Karatu. Overnight at The Manor at Ngorongoro on full board basis inclusive of local drinks and laundry.

DAY 6: September 14, 2018

After breakfast drive we now head off to the highlight of the safari- the Serengeti National Park. En route we stop off at Olduvai Gorge including a visit to the small museum. We arrive at your first tented camp of the safari with an overnight at Serengeti Pioneer Camp on full board basis inclusive of local drinks and laundry.

The choice of camp will be made in advance of your arrival to Tanzania with the decision based on which location will provide the optimum game-viewing opportunities. The camp position changes according to the migratory route of the wildebeest. However, each camp itself benefits from resident wildlife – all-year round. Enjoy full-day game drives, bush luncheons and dinners as well as evenings under the stars at the camps.

DAY 7: September 15, 2018

Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in Southern and Central Serengeti (optional hot air balloon safari is available- not included in price and must be booked in advance). Overnight at Serengeti Pioneer Camp on full board basis inclusive of local drinks and laundry.

DAY 9: September 17, 2018

After an early breakfast enjoy a morning game drive en route to northern Serengeti. The plan is to get to your northern Serengeti camp in time for lunch. After lunch, for those that want, there will be an afternoon game drive.

In the evening dinner and overnight at Serengeti Migration Camp on full board basis inclusive of local drinks and laundry

Serengeti Migration Camp is the embodiment of the ‘camp’ experience. Located next to the famous Grumeti River which is home to resident hippos that bark and wallow their days away, Serengeti Migration Camp has become synonymous with low-impact high-action game viewing in a landscape that is untouched since the dawn of time. Hidden among the rocky outcrops Serengeti Migration Camp is located at the starting point of the Migration. All good things have to come to an end; sorry. But you have the memories right? After an early breakfast enjoy a morning game drive en route to Lobo Airstrip. We have arranged a flight with Auric Air to get the group back to Arusha. On arrival in Arusha you will all be transferred to Arusha Coffee Lodge for lunch and thereafter transferred to Kilimanjaro Airport for your departure flight (not included).

Hot air balloon safari option on day 7 – from $539 per person. Must be booked in advance.

Passenger Information

  • Passengers should bring only soft sided bags on safari.
  • Weight limit on bags- 35 pound maximum (includes hand luggage)
  • All the passengers must have Identification Card/Passport with them for internal flights.

Entry Requirements

A current U.S. passport with at least 6 months left before expiration at the time you return home (should also have at least 4 to 6 blank pages). Please ask about special requirements for children under 18 years.

A $3000 deposit is required to hold your spot. Space is limited; prices are based on double occupancy and are subject to change. Please be aware the airline or operator may impose a fuel or tax surcharge over which we have no control, an additional fee may be charged prior to departure. Single persons signing up are subject to an additional $2457. Change to packages and cancellation penalties do exist. Travel Insurance is highly recommended.
