Step Two: Open Water Dives

 
Open Water Certification, here we come!!

Here is your chance to show off! After your confined water dives you, and the new friends you've made, continue learning during four open water dives. This is where you have fun putting it all together and fully experience the underwater adventure. You'll repeat many of the same skills you learned in our swimming pool, only this time they'll be performed in the open water.

Because your pool skills have been mastered and the academic material is fresh in your mind, we recommend that you complete your open water training dives soon after completing your last pool session. We have five options from which to choose.

Option #1

The Homestead Crater in Midway, Utah

Located at the base of the Wasatch Mountains with 95 degree water. Incredible comfort and GREAT diving!

Option #2

The Blue Hole Santa Rosa, New Mexico

THE BLUE HOLE is located in Santa Rosa, NM, and is open year-round. This natural body of water is recognized as one of the "Top Ten" inland diving locations in the U.S. It is a fun mini-trip with good food and friendly people.

Option #3

Local Open Water Certification

LOCAL OPEN WATER CERTIFICATION is normally done at one of the local reservoirs.

Visibility is limited, but the diving is close to home, convenient and economical. This is generally offered starting in late May and continues through the first of October, depending on the mood of Mother Nature.

A Group Trip to the "Islands"

Option #5

Student Referral Kit

 

This is used when you plan to complete your open water dives through another PADI facility. Just present the kit to your PADI Instructor and he or she will take care of the rest.

• PADI Certification Envelope
• Picture
• Copy of your PADI Medical Form
• PADI Referral Card
• We'll even mail it to PADI for you when you come in to have your picture taken.
