Who can be a PADI Seal?
The PADI Seal Team is a program for children eight years of age and
older that keeps kids diving until they turn 10 and can take the PADI
Junior Scuba Diver or Junior Open Water Diver program. Your kids can
jump straight into the PADI Seal Team program or start after
experiencing our Bubblemaker program. The PADI Seal Team provides a
structured learning environment combined with enjoyable scuba
activities. This stimulating program appeals to kids who crave
adventure, seek the challenge of learning new skills and want to gain an
appreciation for preserving the aquatic realm. They also earn credit
towards their Jr. Open Water Diver certification.
What do PADI Seals do?
PADI Seals learn the basics of scuba diving through several Aquamissions.
There are 15 missions, but after the first five, participants become
PADI Seal Team Members. In the first Aquamission, Seals learn
how to breathe underwater, learn about their air gauge and practice
hand signals. In Aquamission #2, they build on their scuba skills
(practicing regulator skills, becoming more confident divers and great
PADI Seal Team buddies). The third Aquamission includes more exciting
skills (mask clearing, octopus breathing and hand signals). In the fourth
Aquamission, Seals learn what it's like to to be weightless (bouyancy) -
just like an Astronaut in space! Aquamission #5 is the last step in
becoming a PADI Seal Team Member. In the last Aquamission, we review
what the Seals have learned, and add some fun surface skills
(Snorkeling)!
The adventure continues...Our underwater space station, underwater
wreck and many other adventures wait PADI Seals after they complete
their first five aquamissions. Seal Team Members complete 10
specialty recreational and educational Aquamissions to become Master
Seal Team Members. Check out our Master Seal Team program.
